Whether you’re looking to learn to fly for your own pleasure and enjoyment, or you’re looking to take the first step onto the journey of becoming a fully qualified commercial pilot the Private Pilot Licence is where you need to start your pilot training journey.
Our Private Pilot Licence (PPL) Training Course is designed to meet all the requirements for you to sit your theory exams and practical skill test to become fully rated to fly Single Engine Piston aircraft. You will then be able to add further ratings to your license such as Night, Multi-Engine, IR (R) etc as you build your experience to becoming a more competent private pilot.

To obtain a Private Pilot License (PPL) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in India, you need to meet several requirements:

PPL Requirement as per DGCA.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Age: You must be at least 17 years old.
2. Educational Qualification: You should have passed 10th standard or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics.
3. Medical Fitness: You need to hold a valid Class II Medical Certificate issued by a DGCA-approved medical examiner.
Training Requirements
1. Ground Training: You must complete ground training covering subjects like Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Air Regulation, and Technical General.
2. Flight Training: You need to complete a minimum of 40 hours of flight time, which includes:

20 hours of solo flight time.

10 hours of solo cross-country flight time.

5 hours of instrument flying.

5 hours of dual flight instruction.
Examinations
1. Theory Exams: You need to pass two theory exams:

PPL Composite: Covers Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, and Air Regulation.

PPL Technical General: Covers technical aspects and principles of aircraft.
2. Flying Test: You must pass a flying test conducted by a DGCA examiner.
Additional Requirements
1. English Language Proficiency: You must meet the English Language Proficiency standards set by DGCA.
2. Logbook: Maintain a logbook documenting all your flight training and experience. Once you meet these requirements and pass the necessary exams, you can apply for your PPL through the DGCA’s eGCA portal. Are you planning to start your training soon?
